VRES @ West Coast Fair 2026

On February 11, VRES successfully hosted the West Coast Fair, which is an online fair open to students from Simon Fraser University, University of British Columbia, and University of Victoria. The fair gave VRES the opportunity to connect with undergraduate & graduate students from a wide range of academic programs and backgrounds.

The West Coast Fair is a meaningful platform for students who are passionate about education and community engagement. VRES is proud to support students in aligning their personal career goals with the values and mission of our organization. Although each session was brief, with less than 10 minutes each, we were able to introduce VRES’s mission, share our open placements for both co-op and seasonal jobs, along with volunteer opportunities, and encourage students with strong professional backgrounds and alignment with our core values to apply after the fair.

We were excited to see many strong candidates complete the full application form and follow up after the event. The fair was both rewarding and effective, not only did it increase awareness of VRES, but it also brought in talented individuals with great potential and diverse capabilities.

A big shout-out to our representatives—Bella, Bryna, Chelzy, and Tiffany. From preparation to the final session, they dedicated considerable effort to ensure the entire fair is informative and inspiring. Their professionalism and authentic insights left a strong impression on attendees and inspired many prospective candidates to consider joining VRES! Together, VRES connected with 68 students this year, which exceeded our expectations. The success of the fair would not have been possible without their dedication, teamwork, and engagement.

Last but not least, a heartfelt thank you to the West Coast Virtual Fair team for providing such an accessible platform for VRES to easily meet with emerging, talented, and dynamic students. With the meaningful connections and memorable relationships we’ve built, VRES looks forward to returning next year!
